The Ethiopian government announced Wednesday that it had accepted the African Union’s invitation to participate in the talks pace with the rebels of the Tigray region, without specifying the date and place of the meeting.
Radwan Hussein, Prime Minister Abiy Ahmed’s national security adviser, wrote in a tweet that “the African Union has sent an invitation to talks of pace and the Ethiopian government accepted this invitation in in line with our principled position in on a peaceful solution to the conflict and the need for talks without preconditions
The AU has issued an invitation for peace talks. The GoE has accepted this invitation which is inline with our principled position regarding the peaceful resolution of the conflict and the need to have talks without preconditions.
