This matter is being hyped up unnecessarily. In the first place the Government of Ethiopia, and not member of Prince Alemayehu can request the repatriation of the Prince’s remains. Secondly, I stand corrected, but there exists no blood consanguinity between Prince Joel, or for that matter, other members of the Ethiopian Royal Family and Prince Alemayehu. For your information, the rightful relatives of Prince Alemayehu are the scions of Dejazmach Kassa ( forgot his surname) who is the grandson of Emperor Tewodros. Last, but not least, the issue of the repatriation to Ethiopia of the remains of Prince Alemayehu Tewodros is a done and dusted matter for the late Queen Elizabeth II responding to the late President Girma Wolde Giorgis’s request on the eve of the Ethiopian Millennium had made it crystal clear that because his remains had been re interned wi th 39 others, it would be a sensitive issue for the relatives to disturb the remains of their loved ones in the exhumation process. St George’s Chapel in Windsor in whose precincts the Prince has been made to rest, has offered the opportunity for the Ethiopian Community to hold a rememberance day to commemorate the death of Prince Alemayehu.
