35 out of 37 factory-assembled mobile phone factories have been shut down

The Ministry of Industry (MoI) has announced that 35 out of 37 factory-assembled mobile phone factories have been shut down, leaving only two out of the market, according to The Reporter.

If the contraband business for mobile phone continues and not controlled, the two mobile assembly industry will soon be closing. Mr Melaku Alebel, the Ethiopian Minister of Industry, said the manufacturing industry is on a downward spiral.
